Making Easy Money

Coming to a station near you any time soon?Photo: Tim GilliamPresident Obama doesn't seem
like he's going to let this high-speed rail thing go, making it a centerpiece
of the infrastructure section of his State of the Union Address last night:

Within 25 years, our goal is to give 80 percent of Americans
access to high-speed rail. This could allow you to go places in half the time
it takes to travel by car. For some trips, it will be faster than flying --
without the pat-down. As we speak, routes in California and the Midwest are
already underway.

Sounds great, if you're a
high-speed rail fan. But last fall's midterm elections exposed GOP opposition
to Obama's plan to bring fast train service to all regions of the country. As a
gubernatorial candidate, Republican Scott Walker of Wisconsin made opposition
to a Milwaukee-Madison high-speed route a centerpiece of his campaign. After he
was elected, he
handed the feds back $810 million that would have funded the line, on the
grounds that it would be too expensive for the state to run. It was a move
echoed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's rejection of funds for a regular-speed
rail tunnel under the Hudson River (Christie is fighting hard not to repay money the feds already spent on that project).

And in California, which
ended up getting some of that Wisconsin money, there's been controversy over the first phase of the state's own HSR project, with detractors calling it "a train to
nowhere" and farm communities worried about the impact on available land.

So it's notable that Obama
doesn't seem to be backing down from his push to make HSR part of his legacy.
That 80 percent figure is pretty aggressive.

The president also hammered
away at the need for the need to continue upgrading and repairing the
transportation infrastructure we already have:

So
over the last two years, we've begun rebuilding for the 21st century, a project
that has meant thousands of good jobs for the hard-hit construction industry.
And tonight, I'm proposing that we redouble those efforts.

We'll
put more Americans to work repairing crumbling roads and bridges. We'll make
sure this is fully paid for, attract private investment, and pick projects
based [on] what's best for the economy, not politicians.

Obama's
stance was cheered by Transportation for
America (T4A) a coalition group calling for a reform of the nation's
transportation system. At the same time, the group's statement also acknowledges the difficulty of
getting projects funded. From the statement released by T4A's executive director, James Corless, today:

We were thrilled to hear the President come right
out and say that investment in transportation and other infrastructure is
central to rebuilding and growing our economy. An upfront investment in the
most-needed, clean transportation projects is a great opportunity to create
near-term jobs and lay the groundwork for the future economy.

He acknowledged that money will be tight and we
have to make the best of use it. That requires fixing the 20th century
infrastructure -- our crumbling roads and bridges -- as we build out the
infrastructure for the 21st. That certainly includes
high-speed rail, but it also means helping communities get moving on
long-planned networks of light rail, street cars, rapid buses, and making
progress on road reconstruction to make our streets safer people walking,
biking and driving.

The President's vision for infrastructure is not just about
near-term construction jobs. It is, as he said, about growing new businesses,
livable neighborhoods and dynamic regions that can attract a young and mobile
workforce and compete with our international competitors. It's about the jobs
associated with new transportation technologies
and manufacturing modern transit vehicles, everything from real time
information systems to make our highways and transit corridors smarter, to the
new rail cars being built today by United Streetcar in Oregon that can breathe
new life into our cities and suburbs.

T4A's Equity Caucus, which focuses on
the needs of poor, working-class, and minority Americans, had this to say:

[O]ur inadequate, outdated,
and underfunded transportation systems are keeping too many struggling
Americans -- young and old, rural and urban -- from fully connecting and
contributing to the national economy.

 Millions of Americans
rely exclusively on public transit, walking, or biking to get to work, to the
doctor's office, to school, and to the grocery store. Nearly 20 percent of
African American households, 14 percent of Latino households, and 13 percent of
Asian households live without a car. Fifteen percent of Native Americans must
travel more than 100 miles to access basic services.

 Smarter transportation
investments can unleash the under-realized economic power of communities across
America.

All this comes in the context
of a transportation reauthorization bill that has been stalled for the past year and a
half in Congress -- and that was when the Democrats controlled both the House and the
Senate. With Republicans now in control of the House, things are bound to get more complicated. Rep. John Mica (R-Fla.), the new Republican chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the House, had this to say about the president's call for more infrastructure spending (via Transportation Nation):

After the Administration derailed a major six-year transportation
bill in 2009, it is encouraging that they are now on board with getting
infrastructure projects and jobs moving again. However, just another
proposal to spend more of the taxpayers’ money, when we have billions of
dollars sitting idle tied up in government red tape, will never get our
economic car out of the ditch.

We’ve got to do more with less to improve our infrastructure in a fiscally responsible manner.

Central to all future
discussion about infrastructure enhancement and repair will be the question of
money. With lawmakers avowedly against raising the gas tax, finding the cash to
build new systems -- or to stop the proverbial crumbling of the old ones -- is
going to be the biggest problem.

I started writing TV recaps and reviews a few years ago when a friend of a friend at a major newspaper told me they were expanding their TV coverage and needed people do cover a few shows, so I picked up two programs I already watched a lot, 'The Office' and 'ER.' It sounded easy enough, writing my thoughts on shows I already had opinions on anyway, although it took several tries to get the tone right–sometimes it still does. Some publications want a lot of recap, and some prefer that you assume that the readers saw the show and just touch on the major points. Some editors encourage plenty of sassmouth and snark, whereas others won’t tolerate even a hint at a swear word.

Typically, I'm assigned to review either an episode or a series of a show. I watch the show, and as quickly as possible, but as thoughtfully and with as much "voice" as possible, record my impressions of the quality of the episode along with the recap.

It’s a fun job, one that I’m lucky to have, period, let alone make a few bucks off, but like any writing gig, it comes with its own writey lessons.

Long scripted dramas and reality TV shows are the easiest to cover. Half-hour comedies are some of the hardest. It can be difficult to stretch a recap of a half-hour show into several good paragraphs and you can only say “…and it was funny when…” so many times. Also really hard to turn into something: results shows that aren’t finales. They’re usually all filler except for the results–the best reality TV competition shows are figuring out how to make the results shows worth watching because otherwise people will just skip and read about what happened online. With a drama, though, you can usually find something to say about the season (or series) as a whole even if the episode didn’t give you a ton to work with.

Screeners make life so much easier. I think I automatically relax and like a show more if I know I have a day or two to think about it after I watch it than if I only have an hour or two to write it up. Knocking out a writeup on a two-hour episode of 'American Idol' an hour after seeing it and making it comprehensive, entertaining, and spelling-error free is sometimes a challenge.

Livechatting reality TV show finales is way more fun than writing about them. As great a job it is to write about television, actually talking to like-minded people in real time and trying to one-up each other with jokes and observations is more fun. They’re like TV-watching parties but without that pesky real live interaction that goes along with that whole having-to-put-on-a-bra thing.

If you truly love a show, don't review it. I get asked occasionally to review 'RuPaul's Drag Race' but I won't, at least not full-time, because I like saving that show as pure entertainment, just me and the TV and no notes or observations. Because even though writing about TV isn’t especially grueling work, it’s still work, and if you really love letting a show take you away for a little while, it’s best just to keep it as entertainment without turning it into an assignment, to remember what it’s like to just watch something without taking notes. I do like subbing for people who cover shows I watch just for fun, though. There’s less pressure to come up with something new to say, and you get to come at it from a fan’s perspective, not a critic’s. Plus, if for some reason you rub the readers the wrong way, it was just a one-time thing and they won't be back next week to tell you what an ass you are.

Commenters will eat your soul if you let them. I have other critic friends who can avoid comments completely or not let them get to them. I am not one of these people. Why do I read comments on my pieces? Because I’m a masochist, that’s why. I guess I should stop being surprised when people use the internet's anonymity to be jerks. Being told that your mother should have had aborted you when she had the chance because of your opinion on 'Lost' (this didn’t happen to me, it happened to a colleague) never goes down easy. I learn to laugh a day or two later but I’m still naively shaken sometimes by how rude people can be (My opinion on one episode of 'SNL' made one person decide that I am "literally retarded"). That said, I also feel crappy if a commenter politely points out that I made a mistake or missed something.

Whenever people find out you're a TV critic and ask you what’s good, without fail, you draw a blank and then you feel like an idiot. I feel like I can’t keep saying 'The Wire' for forever, I’m afraid to admit to how loyal a 'Bridezillas' viewer I am. Alternately, they haven't heard of any of the shows you do recommend. Or, they watched a few episodes of your favorite show and hated it and then you say “Oh, well,” and secretly judge them.

Network swag is fun to receive, and then you throw it away. It’s entertaining to receive a big silly package from a network in the mail, until I realize that I have to dispose of all the packaging that it came in and what do I need with some of this swag, anyway? Except the time that a network sent me some pancake mix and syrup for Christmas. That was great.

Going out and having a few drinks before you go home to write sounds like a much better and more enjoyable idea than it is. For something that sounds so fun and easy, you have to take it pretty seriously in order to do a decent job at it, especially since there are probably 200 people who would gladly take over covering for you. This goes double if you have a day job and can’t afford to sleep in because you started watching the two-hour 'Idol' “event” at 10 PM.

Change is good. 'American Idol' is only two episodes in but the consensus amongst reviewers is that, so far, it’s not too terrible. In my experience, a reality TV show changing up its format, if even slightly, is a good thing, at least from a writing perspective. When 'So You Think You Can Dance' incorporated its All-Stars last season, it might not have been for the best of the show, but at least I could evaluate the changes and ask the readers what they thought. When a show rests too long in format you can get too comfortable (Eventually I had a hard time finding much to say about 'Project Runway' for the first 75% of each episode, since it started to feel like everything prior to the runway was pretty irrelevant, unless Tim Gunn did something noteworthy).

Tim Gunn, over the phone, is as nice as you’d hope he’d be. Better, even. Classy, charming, intelligent, friendly: I was so excited after I interviewed him that I did a horrible job spell-checking the interview and let it get posted when it really shouldn’t have. I just wanted to brag to the world that I talked to him. Also very nice, despite probably being richer than anyone else I know: Nigel Lythgoe.

online reputation management Protection

When companies or individuals fall prey to unfair opponents, irate ex-employees or disgruntled people, then a SERM becomes important inside the financial survival of the corporation.

Firms like SERMs are important in maintaining, and in some cases salvaging and restoring suppliers or person's popularity and fantastic title.

On line searches are one for the 1st items that modern day consumes do prior to investing capital using a enterprise or particular person, and one particular poor click can suggest financial disaster for a home business, certainly on this ever expanding cyber economy. Reputation for these SERMs are raising by leaps and bounds using the realization it's not prudent to try to conduct online business in this cyber age rather than possess a SERM on retainer coupled with your accountant along with your attorney.

Businesses are also appreciating the collateral advantage of possessing a Popularity Management agency on-board as an integral a part of their corporation design, its good promoting! While securing a company's very good popularity and title online, it generates excellent press and constructive publicity that finally adds considerably on the bottom line of the company's stability sheet, creating the providers to virtually spend for by itself in lots of conditions.

This tends to be an incredibly strong selling point for businesses also as people today, to know that they are cleansing and defending their reputations and cyber images, whilst simultaneously working an extremely beneficial marketing initiative. Quite often suppliers completely disregard their former marketing efforts web based and select the benefits of Internet Reputation Management.

Acquiring a SERM agency in your aspect is with no a doubt the way in which to go on this cyber age. For a great deal more important information on online reputation management and corporate reputation management, Please visit us at http://removeripoffreports.net/

Making Money Uk

What this means for the US market it’s not clear, but Spotify’s tactic seems to be to invest more money in Spotify to expand the territories it’s available in, before making it a highly profitable one. This may have something to do with the fact that Spotify has been struggling to enter the US market, and to do so, may have to invest more, distracting the company from building a highly profitable service.

Do you think Spotify will ever make it into the US?

Ladies and gentlemen, Onika Maraj is a WORLDWIDE phenomenon.

HipHopWired reports:

Having a cult like following can be a gift and a curse and while currently doing overseas promo, rapper Nicki Minaj is finding that out first hand.

Apparently, the management at The Dorchester hotel where she’s staying in London are fed up with hundreds of fans crowding outside and notified the female rapper that if she doesn’t have here minions leave the premises, she will have to get out.

Minaj tweeted this earlier today:

“Ugh! The lonon barbz r giving me life! They’re so passionate. They’re still @ the hotel. The hotel is threatening to kick me out”.

Followed by,

“So the hotel made me walk out the “back” door and guess what? Paparazzi and Barbz… Lol. Ima need that hotel to sit. U aint stoppn nuthn”

It seems like Nicki’s UK stay hasn’t been all crumpets and tea. Young Money’s first lady was forced to cancel an appearance at London nightclub, Runway last night after a fight broke out at the venue.

She was scheduled to make an appearance at Runway following a performance at nearby club Oceana, but police presence because of the melee forced her to cancel.

As usual, Minaj kept her fans posted via Twitter, tweeting,

“Had a blast @ oceana! Security issues r now preventing us from entering runway…”

Don’t think Kim ever got love like this in her hey day…we’re just saying.

Making Money Through

By Dian L. Chu, EconForecast

"[H&H Imports] Stock went from 5 cent to 10 in one day. You can double your money right now. Just get what you can afford." [H & H Imports has]…15 products this year. If you get in technically I work for you. BIG MONEY." If you think you are reading the script of Boiler Room, you probably are not that far off. These are actually statements, according to Guardian, broadcasted by rapper 50 Cent on twitter, the social media site, on which 50 Cent has over 3.8 million followers. (The original tweets have been removed from 50 Cent's Twitter account.)

290% Pump = $8.7 million Paper Profit

H&H Imports is a penny stock traded on Pink Sheets under the ticker HNHI.  Apparently, 50 Cent’s 3.8 million followers heeded his tweets, as HNHI shares saw a 290% jump in one day on Jan. 10, 2010 (See Chart).  This is not one of those paid promotions that celebrities sometime do, and by NY Post’s account, that pop also translates into $8.7 million paper profit for 50 Cent.  That means 50 Cent owns about 30 million shares of the stock.

Insider Disclosure?

There are some aspects of this event that could attract interests from the SEC.  For example, 50 Cent did not disclose that he purchased about 13% of H&H Imports, consisting of shares and warrants, in a private placement back in November, 2010.

According to another article at Hotstocked.com, the price per unit was $0.10 and thus the total investment made by the rapper amounted for $750,000.  But the article went on to say "It looks like the warrants have also been already exercised," and the actual number of shares owned could as many as 30 million, which is the number cited by the NY Post article.

From $412k loss to $8.7 Million Profit?

Using just the $0.10 per share and $750,000 as the cost base, the stock’s 4.5 cents price on Thursday Jan. 6—right before the pump tweets—could represent a paper loss of $412,500 to 50 Cent, at the minimum.  (Yes, this is loose change to the rapper mogul, as 50 Cent net worth is estimated to be $480 million, but Martha Stewart had served time for far less.)  Furthermore, making claims like “double your money right now” to investors is a big no no.

"Alternative Exchange"...For Good Reason

However, what really boggles my mind is the fact that 9.24 million shares were traded in two days flocking to a high risk penny stock largely on celebrity tweets!

I’m not sure if anybody invested in the stock has bothered to do any due diligence homework. First of all, there’s a reason these Pink Sheets stocks are listed on the “alternative exchange” – they are not exactly financially sound and highly speculative.

Then, there’s this small matter that H&H Imports does not even have an official company website.  Of course, the various and extremely vague business descriptions from Yahoo Finance, and Google Finance only further affirm one of the typical penny stock's characteristics.

NY Post also reported that as of Sept. 30, the company has accumulated a deficit of $3.3 million and in March its auditor raised questions about its ability "to continue as a going concern," the company has said in financial documents.”

Ok, ‘nough said.

Pump, But Not Sure About Dump

The stock, after peaking at 39 cents on Jan. 10, has since dropped almost 31% to close at $0.27 on Friday, Jan.13. So, apparently there’s some dumping going on.  Nevertheless, I personally am quite flabbergasted at the apparent faith behind the stock as it is still way above its low of 4.5 cents.

Anyway, for now, there’s no indication that 50 Cent has sold his holdings to complete the “pump and dump” cycle as some has suspected him of.  I guess we will leave it to the SEC and other regulatory agencies to sort it all out.

Meanwhile, there seems to be some PR coaching coming through in the more recent tweets by 50 Cent such as this one:

"I own HNHI stock thoughts on it are my opinion. Talk to financial advisor about it."Dian L. Chu, Jan. 15, 2011 | Vote at Shorty Finance Award | Mobile Website | Facebook Page | New Article Alert | Google Profile

Khloe Kardashian: Is She Making A Play As the No. 1 Kardashian?

As Lamar Odom and his wife, Khloe Kardashian, get set to begin filming their reality show, Khloe & Lamar, one cannot help but realize how much screen time Khloe has.

With her third E! show on tap, and a publicized marriage with a World Champion basketball star in Lamar, is Khloe becoming the No.1 Kardashian the right way?

Whether you know her or not, you have all heard of sister Kim, for one reason or another, but sister Khloe seems to be giving her a run for her money nowadays.

Kim was romantically linked to Saints Super Bowl Champion Reggie Bush, but unfortunately, things did not work out.

While Kim is now reportedly linked to Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets, he holds nothing on Lamar.

The Kardashians continue to creep onto your television screen and it seems it will not stop.

With Khloe & Lamar due out around the NBA Playoffs, Khloe may take the reins as the top Kardashian with the help of the Lakers' forward.

Not really. TD has always said that piracy is against the law. What Mike and others often aregue, is that the laws should be changed in favour of the consumers, not faceless megacorps.

I think you're right in that TD often encourages more sane laws in favor of the public vs corporations, but as far as piracy goes, my take on the TD line is that legality is a non-issue now that technology makes it hard NOT to copy something, what's important is finding a way to make money in spite of it. Pragmatism is the name of the game.

Now the *comments* on TD run all over the map. There's a lot of soft endorsement of illegal distribution, along with people who are outright loud about it. There are people who seem to think that artists are lazy chumps who want a free ride, and people who apparently have a problem with anyone exercising any legal muscle. Luckily there are some dissenting voices of reason, who are neither "IP Maximalists" nor "Freetards". (All these phrases and sloganeering are dumb as hell and only serve to trivialize how complicated these issues really are. "Pooperty" anyone? Let's cut out this ad campaign for issues and appeal to people through their reason and intellect)

I do kind of wish they would bring in some writers with more varied opinions. For instance, I agree with the criticism that TD loves to dispense business advice for musicians without any real clear idea of what goes into a musical career. The complicated web of credits and legalities that go into bringing multiple creative people together with their own input to and ownership of a project (We're not all solo artists!), the insane logistics of performing on a consistent basis and taking it on the road, the idea that fans just buy the hell out of merch, the notion that the internet has made distribution *easier* (it's not, it's *cheaper*, but only to get started), and the idea that grass roots projects can "bubble up" to the surface without a professional PR push and management team (Amanda Palmer works with a publicist and several managers, besides the fact she's "married" to Neil Gaiman, one of the most popular writers of the last 20 years. She's not a model for future musicians). But the reality is that even a no name blogger is pitched music by major labels every day, so not having a professional management/publicist team to pitch you, more importantly to give you legitimacy, means your emails most likely will never be opened.

Now, it is true that some artists will in fact bubble up, but it's mostly going to be boring mid-level talent with an interesting story behind them. Meh. I'd trade a thousand Susan Boyles/Ted Williams/Homeless Flavor of the Month for just one Jim Croce or Leonard Cohen.

Making Money Quickly

Edsall described the Terps’ opening as a “Dream Job.” But that doesn’t change the fact that the move surprised college football fans on every end of the spectrum.

Mitchell Layton/Getty Images

There was a general consensus that Oklahoma was going to win the Fiesta Bowl. That being said, it wasn’t like UCONN rolled over. The Huskies rallied late in the season, winning four straight and entering their first BCS bowl in school history. They were playing in honor of the late Jasper Howard, who dreamed of making it to a BCS game.

Obviously, the loss left UCONN heavy hearted. They were simply outclassed by a bigger, faster, and significantly more talented Oklahoma team. One would think a loss of that magnitude would give Head Coach Randy Edsall a lot to think about. But apparently, he digested all the facts pretty quickly; leaving the Huskies for the University of Maryland literally 24 hours after losing in the Fiesta Bowl.

Edsall described the Terps’ opening as a “Dream Job.” But that doesn’t change the fact that the move surprised college football fans on every end of the spectrum. First, Maryland spent more than two million dollars just to terminate the contract of Ralph Friedgen. With that kind of money spent on the firing of a coach that went 8-4; the overwhelming assumption was that Maryland was getting a major coach. Names tossed around included Chris Petersen and Mike Leach.

But perhaps more interesting is where Maryland stands in the ACC. Maryland does not make nearly as much money from their football program as the rest of the ACC (sans Duke and Wake Forest). If anything, Edsall made a lateral move, to a strikingly similar modern program. The only real difference is the conference. And this is something the Big East has had a lot of trouble getting used to.

In 2006, Bobby Petrino led the Louisville Cardinals to a BCS game for the first time in the school’s history, and then unceremoniously left to coach the Atlanta Falcons (who he also departed from in controversial fashion). The next year, Rich Rodriguez led West Virginia, an offensive juggernaut with White and Slaton into the BCS, before ditching his alma mater for another maize and blue team. Last year, Brian Kelly literally left the Bearcats coach-less for their BCS game, in order to fill the void at Notre Dame.

So let’s add this up. In the last five years, four teams have won the Big East. All four of those teams’ coaches left, resulting in absolute chaos throughout the conference. And even though all of these coaches are doing it to seek greener pastures, there are two things that are worth mentioning. First, with the exception of Bobby Petrino, who somehow landed on his feet in Arkansas, the departed Big East coaches have had significant problems in their new environments, both on and off the field. Second, and more important, is the rate of exchange.

Since the 2005 departure of football powerhouses Miami, Boston College, and Virginia Tech, there is no other conference that has experienced coaching turnover quite like the Big East. In a country where football is the money sport, the Big East is literally the only major conference that has built itself around basketball success. Interestingly enough, the ACC’s decision to acquire BC, Virginia Tech, and Miami, were part of initiative to make the ACC a football conference again.

Try as they may, the Big East is not in a position to do that. Notre Dame has flat out refused to join the conference, so the Big East instead reached out to TCU, a school more than halfway across the country. TCU’s departure officially spells doom for the Mountain West, but also doesn’t do anything for the Big East. Because instead of moving to a conference where you can be a BCS team at-large with such a successful season, TCU has put themselves in a position where they can lose five regular season games, and still make the BCS. Hell, if an undefeated Cincinnati couldn’t get National championship consideration, you can be certain that TCU won’t either. And it’s simply because the focus is not on football.

Now, the truth is, that’s not always a huge problem. Football is literally six times more expensive to operate than the next most expensive college sport. So if you are the Big East, and basketball is the big ticket, it’s probably not a terrible idea to ride the basketball wave. The only problem is, coaches know that too.

Yesterday, I spoke to a former National Champion Football player at Boston College about the series of Big East exits, and his response was simple. “If you put every Head Football Coach from the Big East in a room and asked them to air grievances, the first thing they’d all say is, ‘we can’t get top talent here because we are a basketball conference.”

But if the understanding is that they aren’t a football conference, why is there an illusion that these are real football coaches? UCONN football was literally the only head coaching position that Edsall ever knew. And unlike Jim Harbaugh, who literally need one recruiting class to turn a 1-11 team into a national powerhouse in the Pac 10, Edsall needed 12 years, a lost of losing seasons, and three of the most significant athletic defections of the new millennium.

Perhaps coaches are doing what anyone else would do. They are striking while the iron is hot.

While Manning will get his stats, Reggie Wayne will find himself on Revis Island for much of the game. That makes Pierre Garcon a great option this week, while tight end Jacob Tamme and third receiver Blair White will also be involved. Even though the Colts have been ineffective running the ball, Manning tries to keep the offense balanced, so look for Joseph Addai to be the feature back in the run game against an overrated Jets run defense.

On the Jets' side of the ball, they will lean heavily on Shonn Greene and the run game against the 25th-ranked Colts defense. While LaDainian Tomlinson was the name to start the season, Greene should be the focus in the playoffs, much like last season.

Overall, Mark Sanchez and the passing game have looked anemic here at the end of the season, but Dustin Keller has looked better as of late and may be the most talented tight end in the postseason. Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards are decent plays against a suspect Indy pass defense, as well.

Projection: Colts, 27-24

No. 5 Baltimore Ravens (12-4) at No. 4 Kansas City Chiefs (10-6)

Ever wonder what would happen when an unstoppable force hits the immovable object? Watch Jamaal Charles, arguably the most explosive running back in the NFL, face off against the stout Baltimore run defense, and you may get your answer.

In this case, my money’s on Charles, who is too explosive to be shut down for four quarters. Otherwise, the Ravens defense has allowed very few fantasy points to opposing players, so no other Kansas City player looks to have a huge game. This is even more likely with Dwayne Bowe being limited in practice so far this week.

The Chiefs have a middle-of-the-road defense, so Baltimore will probably come out with a relatively conservative gameplan. While Anquan Boldin is the best receiver in Baltimore, Flacco seems more comfortable with Derrick Mason, who has 204 yards and three touchdowns over the last four weeks, compared with only 67 yards and zero touchdowns for Boldin over that span.

While Ray Rice did not have the regular season many had hoped for, he will be a big part of the offense going forward in the postseason, and did finish the season strong down the stretch.

Prediction: Baltimore, 17-10
